Sand spreader bucket with electric drive
ForshagaSpridaren S21

The Forshaga Spreader S21 effectively spreads sand, gravel, or salt and is used year-round for anti-slip measures, paving work, dust binding, and track filling.

The electric drive together with the control system offers many advantages. The spreader can be easily calibrated and thus spread the correct dosage without being affected by engine speed, oil flow, or speed. The carrier's diesel consumption and power requirements are also significantly reduced thanks to the system's higher efficiency. It also becomes possible to operate in environmentally classified areas. The control system with built-in GPS adjusts the dispensing according to the vehicle's speed so that the correct dosage is achieved – both at start, stop, forward, and backward.

SPREADING CHARACTERISTICS

The output automatically follows the vehicle's speed according to the set dosing, including start and stop. Output can also occur with the vehicle turned off for filling, road repairs, or to empty the spreader.

The machine spreads materials in fractions between 0 and 50 mm, providing a wide range of applications year-round. The machine delivers a very even spread pattern regardless of dosage and fraction size thanks to the control system and the special design of the output mechanism. In addition to a consistent spread pattern, the spreader can, with very high precision, spread low doses, such as for anti-slip treatment with salt, and high doses, such as for paving work with road gravel.

High capacity makes the machine ideal for various types of paving jobs such as sanding on bleeding asphalt. The machine is also perfect for spreading coarse fractions, making it highly suitable for spreading around wind farms, heavy industries, mines, and forest roads.

Minimal leakage, even spread pattern, and accurate dosing make the machine ideal for dust binding and anti-slip treatment with, for example, sodium, magnesium, and calcium chloride.

ELECTRIC DRIVE

Electric drive offers many advantages compared to hydraulics. The carrier's diesel consumption is significantly reduced thanks to the system's higher efficiency. With lower power requirements, problems with overheating and high engine load, e.g., in inclines, are also reduced. With electric drive, the dispensing can also be controlled with high precision as varying oil flows no longer affect the operation. This allows the spreader to be easily calibrated and thus spread the correct dosage.

The Forshaga Spreader has a reliable electric motor with a long lifespan. Thanks to an automatic fuse that triggers if something in the material blocks the output, the risk of damage to the machine is reduced. Therefore, no grid is required above the rollers, which otherwise easily causes vault formation. As only the power supply needs to be connected, the handling of hydraulic hoses, the risk of oil spills, and the ability to drive in environmentally classified areas where attached hydraulic equipment is not permitted are eliminated.

DESIGN

S21 uses ForshagaSpridaren's well-proven spreading system with electric drive, wireless control, and calibratable output. The machine's few wear parts, low maintenance costs, and calibratable output together provide very good overall economy.

The spreader is very robust and made of profiled steel plate with wear steel in 450 HB and cutting steel in 500 HB. Thanks to well-thought-out bucket angles, it is easy to fill. The bucket is delivered with a large BM mount.

HIGH OPERATIONAL RELIABILITY

The unique design of the dispensing mechanism allows for a large fraction range and effectively prevents operational stoppages due to frost lumps or stones in the material. In addition to high tolerance for contaminants in the material, the design also minimizes leakage.

AGITATOR ROLLER

The Forshaga Spreader S21 is equipped with an improved agitator roller that effectively distributes and moves the material towards the output roller to prevent vault formation. Drive package, roller, and bearings have a new design, which allows the machine to spread material with poorer properties while significantly reducing the need for service.

TRACK SPREADING

The machine's sectioning allows for spreading in different widths and numbers of tracks. Thus, for example, spreading in wheel tracks for longer range, filling tracks on damaged forest roads, and creating a skating lane are made possible.

WIRELESS CONTROL

The operator controls the machine wirelessly with a smartphone app. All electronics are fully integrated into the spreader, and only positive and negative connections need to be made. This contributes to high operational reliability and simplified use.

Control via app

The system is very well-proven and automatically adjusts the dosing to the vehicle's speed using GPS. The app is very popular and has a well-thought-out menu system where program selection and the spreader's functions are easily controlled directly on the screen.

The wireless control makes it easy to use the spreader with several different vehicles as no cabling is needed to connect the spreader to the control unit.

With over 1000 installations, the app is well-tested and has received very good reviews. Download and read more about the app on Google Play.

MATERIAL SAVING

The spreader can easily be calibrated for different types of materials. With a calibrated machine and correct dosing, optimal range is achieved to the benefit of both the environment and the economy. According to our customers, they save 40-50% in material consumption with ForshagaSpridaren in many cases.

LEVEL GAUGE

The spreader is equipped with a level gauge that continuously measures the amount of material in the bucket. The material level is displayed as a bar in the control unit and provides a good indication of when it is time to collect material. In addition, the estimated remaining range is also displayed in the control unit.

DOCUMENTATION & DATA TRANSFER

All machine activities are continuously logged in the system with GPS position and time, providing the opportunity for follow-up and quality assurance. Log files are easily opened in TimeReport, which can be downloaded from our customer pages. Read more about this system here.

Our machines comply with the EU standard for transfer of operational data (CEN-15430) to, for example, the Swedish Transport Administration. Several suppliers, such as Mowic and Zeekit, can automatically receive this data in their systems for further processing.
