The ForshagaSpreader T21 effectively spreads sand, gravel, or salt and is used year-round for anti-slip treatment, paving work, dust control, track filling, and sand spreading on bleeding asphalt. The machine has been on the market for over 70 years and has over the years been developed into an optimal road maintenance machine with many applications. The latest model T21 can spread an even wider spectrum of materials.

PLOW, REVERSE AND SPOT SAND

An electric, bed-mounted spreader offers many advantages. It becomes easy to plow and spot sand simultaneously - even with a side wing. In tight passages and cul-de-sacs where towed spreaders can be difficult to handle, the agility and efficiency of the ForshagaSpreader become apparent. This is partly because it works just as well backward as forward, spreads with a lowered bed, and is not in the way when reversing. With the bed in the lowered position, the machine can hold and spread more than a cubic meter of material even though the truck is extended by just under four decimeters.

SPREADING PROPERTIES

The discharge automatically follows the vehicle's speed according to the set dosing, even at start and stop. The fact that spreading can occur in reverse facilitates, for example, anti-skid control at intersections or extreme weather conditions. Discharge can also occur while stationary for filling, road repair, or to empty the spreader of leftover material.

The machine spreads material in fractions between 0 and 50 mm, providing a wide range of applications year-round. The machine provides a very even spread pattern regardless of dosage and fraction size thanks to the control system and the special design of the discharge mechanism. In addition to an even spread pattern, the spreader can, with very high precision, spread low doses, such as for anti-slip treatment with salt, and high doses, such as for paving work with road gravel.

High capacity makes the machine excellent for various types of paving work, such as sand spreading on bleeding asphalt. The machine is also perfect for spreading coarse fractions, making it very suitable for spreading around wind farms, heavy industries, mines, and forest roads.

Minimal leakage, even spread pattern, and accurate dosing make the machine ideal for dust control and anti-slip treatment with, for example, sodium, magnesium, and calcium chloride.

DESIGN

The ForshagaSpreader is made of profiled steel sheet, making it very compact and robust. The machine replaces the truck's regular tailgate and is specifically designed to provide good maneuverability and the best possible visibility for the driver. The spreader's placement also minimizes the risk of overfilling.

Through its compact format and low weight, the machine can remain mounted even during other driving - when tipping, the spreader functions as a regular tailgate. For easy lifting on and off the machine, there are also built-in lifting eyes. The spreader is delivered complete with rear and flashing lights in LED design.

MINIMAL MAINTENANCE

The spreaders have few moving parts and a minimum of wear parts. Our customers claim that service and maintenance costs have decreased by 75% since they switched from towed spreaders to the bed-mounted ForshagaSpreader. The result has been higher availability while billable time has increased.

HIGH OPERATIONAL RELIABILITY

The unique construction of the discharge mechanism allows for a wide range of fractions and effectively prevents operational stops due to frost lumps or stones in the material. In addition to a high tolerance for impurities in the material, the design also minimizes leakage. The spreader's placement also ensures that snow spray and slush from the vehicle do not end up in the material.

TRACK SPREADING

The machine's section limitation allows spreading in any width and number of tracks. This enables, for example, spreading in wheel tracks for longer range, track filling of damaged forest roads, and the ability to create a skate lane.

The spreader can easily be calibrated for different material types. With a calibrated machine and correct dosing, optimal reach is achieved for the benefit of both the environment and the economy. According to our customers, they often save 40-50% in material consumption with the ForshagaSpreader.

WIRELESS CONTROL

The operator controls the machine wirelessly with a smartphone app. All electronics are fully integrated into the spreader, and only plus and minus need to be connected. This contributes to high operational reliability and simplified use.

Control via app

The system is very well-proven and automatically adjusts the dosing to the vehicle's speed using GPS. The app is very popular and has a well-thought-out menu system where program choices and the spreader's functions are easily controlled directly on the screen.

The wireless control makes the spreader easy to use with several different vehicles as no cabling is needed to connect the spreader to the control unit. The spreader is therefore very suitable for loose bed systems.

AGITATOR ROLLER

The ForshagaSpreader T21 is equipped with an improved agitator roller that efficiently distributes and moves the material towards the discharge roller to prevent vault formation. The drive package, roller, and bearings have a new design, which means that the machine can spread material with poorer properties while the need for service has been significantly reduced.

LEVEL METER

The spreader is equipped with a level gauge that continuously measures the amount of material in the machine. The material level is presented as a bar in the control unit and provides a good indication of when it is time to refill material.

DOCUMENTATION & DATA TRANSFER

All machine activities are continuously logged in the system with GPS position and time, allowing for follow-up and quality assurance. Log files are easily opened in TimeReport which is available for download on our customer pages. Read more about this system here.

Our machines follow the EU standard for the transfer of operational data (CEN-15430) to, for example, Trafikverket. Several suppliers such as Mowic and Zeekit can automatically receive this data in their systems for further processing.

Another example where electric drive, wireless operation, and integrated GPS come into their own is when mounted on a tractor trailer - only power supply needs to be connected to the spreader.
